From the Into the Fire program where the Australian Art Orchestra collaborated with Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani and the Sruthi Laya Ensemble, a South Indian / Karnatic music ensemble.

"In John Rodgers' Moras, it's as if he is looking at an Indian rhythmic composition through a magnifying glass, really analysing it, pulling it apart, and reconstructing it for the Art Orchestra to play. He has taken the opposite position from Adrian Sherriff's Vasantha Pravaham (a brief sound byte is also included on this page). In Vasantha Pravaham Adrian used the melodic materials of the Karnatic composition (Karnatic music is one of the traditional schools of South Indian classical music); whereas Moras takes the rhythmic material and turns virtually the whole orchestra into a giant drum."
