Paul Grabowsky

Paul is the artistic director of Adelaide Festival 2010, one of Australia's best resourced arts festivals and one with a prodigious history for innovation and risk-taking.
Paul founded the AAO in 1993 and has been its artistic director since that time. Since 2000 the position of AD has been chosen by a secret ballot of the musicians
Paul is a pianist, composer and conductor of international renown. He is a accomplished screen composers with numerous credits for film and television including The Grooming, Empire Falls, Human Touch, The Art Of War, Innocence, Jessica, The Jungle Book 2 and Last Orders. Paul's works for the stage include the opera Love in the Age of Therapy and the multimedia production The Theft of Sita.
Paul produced and presented the television series Access All Areasin January to October 1996, and was Commissioning Editor for ABC Television Arts and Entertainment from November 1996 to 1998.
From 1990 to 1992 Paul was the Musical Director of Tonight Live with Steve Vizard. For the 2000 Sydney Olympics he composed for the opening and closing ceremonies and was the Musical Director for the Paralympics Closing Ceremony.
He has won three ARIA awards, a Deadly Award (with Ruby Hunter and Archie Roach) for Ruby's Story, an AFI award, a Helpmann award and was Sidney Myer Performing Artist of the Year in 2000.
In 2007 Paul was awarded the Melbourne Prize (Music) worth $60,000.
