Simon studied at the Manhattan School of Music with John Riley and Keith Copeland. Since returning home to Sydney in 1990 he has performed throughout Australia, Europe, Asia and the US including a 17-city concert tour of Russia with the Mark Isaacs trio.
In addition to regular performances with Australian groups such as Vince Jones, Scott Tinkler’s Drub, James Muller Qt and The Band of Five Names, he has also played with many international touring artists including Claire Martin, Sheila Jordan, Gary Smulyan, Carlos Ward and John Hicks.
His interest in contemporary Asian music has led to many collaborations with Korean musicians including Kim Dae Hwan, Kim Gyong Min, Won Il and Kim Ki Moon as well as performances with Guitarist Eugene Powell (HK)
