Paul Kelly

Singer/ Song Writer

KELLY.jpg
From very early on in his career, Paul Kelly was recognised as one of the most significant singer/songwriters in the country. Inspired initially by the likes of Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Lou Reed and Ray Davies, Kelly's narrative song writing style was infused with wry observations, bittersweet emotions and enormous appeal. As well as issuing an enduring body of work with his own bands, Kelly has written film scores (Lantana), co-produced Archie Roach's acclaimed Charcoal Lane album, Vika and Linda Bull's albums Vika and Linda and Two Wings and has had his songs covered by many artists including, among others, Bic Runga, Renée Geyer, Tex, Don and Charlie, Kate Ceberano, Christine Anu and Chrissie Amphlett.
Meet me In The Middle Of The Air, his collaboration with the Australian Art Orchestra, premiered at the Adelaide Festival Center in 2006. It will be performed next at the Sydney Opera House in October 2008
