Following its London concert, the Australian Art Orchestra presents two new works by Peter Knight and Andrea Keller on 21 November at the Jazztopad Festival

Inspired by iconic Australian author Gerald Murnane’s vision of the interior of Australia, Peter Knight’s The Plains creates a series of musical mirages that form on an endless sonic horizon reflecting and reimagining the wide-open spaces of the Australian landscape.

Andrea Keller’s Hurry Slowly 2 draws together influences from jazz, contemporary classical and minimalism to create a sound that is at once evocative, sensual and challenging.

On November 22, drummer Simon Barker will perform at the Jazztopad Festival in a duo concert with American drummer Hamid Drake, famous for his work with artists like Archie Shepp, Don Cherry and William Parker.

Aviva Endean, Jacques Emery, Simon Barker and Peter Knight will also appear in a series of intimate house concerts from 23-25 November as part of the Melting Pot series.
